From the streets, to the server room, building systems that protect and perform.

01 / ABOUT

Building a second career on the same foundation.

I'm a police officer with a background in:

  • Bomb/explosive detection
  • Executive protection
  • High-threat-level environments
  • Event security
  • Facility lockdown procedures, including jail and prison lockdowns

I've worked these across Georgia, including:

  • International consulates
  • FIFA operations at Mercedes-Benz Stadium
  • Governor's initiative details
  • Religious worship centers
  • Business and corporate centers
  • Large-scale public events and venues

It's work that demands staying calm under pressure, reading a situation accurately, and keeping people and systems safe no matter what's happening around us. Part of that job is documentation — I write extremely detailed reports, detailed enough that they've kept me out of court, because there's nothing left unanswered by the time someone reads them.

That same mindset is what's pulling me toward IT and systems administration. It's not a different skill set so much as a different application of the same one — protecting systems, thinking a few steps ahead, and staying steady when something goes wrong, except now the environment is digital instead of physical. I'm building toward that transition through:

  • CompTIA A+ (in progress), with Linux+/RHCSA, Network+, and Security+ planned next
  • Python for scripting and automation
  • Docker containers for deploying and managing services
  • A home lab running Proxmox, networking gear, and self-hosted services
  • Raspberry Pi tinkering projects for hands-on Linux and networking practice

To me it all comes from the same place: a need to understand how a system works, spot where it's vulnerable, and build something that holds up under pressure. Whether that system is a building full of people or a network full of data, the job is the same — stay ahead of the threat and keep things secure.

If I don't know the answer to something, I'll go find it and come back with the best solution I can — and if I genuinely don't know what to do next, I'll say so. But I'll document exactly where the gap was, so the next time we run into it, we already know how to close it instead of falling into the same trap twice.

And whether I'm behind a computer or out on the ground working, I don't slow down. I'm a highly active person who stays with a project until it's actually finished.
